Now, I’m not the most outgoing person. In fact I hadn’t even planned on calling her, so I was a little wary of talking on the phone with some random person. The phone was next to my mom so she just answered it and I was surprised to find out that it wasn’t my future roommate on the phone, it was her mother. An extremely awkward conversation followed. My mom and I had already got my bed sheets and stuff from the school, which is a good thing because my roommate’s mom had wanted us to get matching linens and towels. Regardless, my mom decides that my roommate and I should probably talk on the phone so she hands it off to me. Unfortunately, my roommate had to be coerced…loudly, to get to the phone and to talk. What followed was a little awkward but she honestly didn’t seem like that weird of a person. Sure, all she’d talk about was anime and video games but that isn’t the end of the world since I like those too. This phone call was odd, but nothing could have prepared me for what would come later…
